You can turn sad, stale bread into golden, crispy croutons. When you make them over a a bonfire or grill, they even catch a hint of smoke and fire and become even more delicious to eat.
Procedure
Tear or cut the bread into medium sized pieces. Melt a good knob of butter on a pan and fry the bread pieces until golden and crispy. Sprinkle with salt and fresh herbs.You can make garlic croutons by adding a two cloves of garlic to the pan.
