In the Viking Age, playing was not reserved for children – adults also enjoyed games. Through play, the Vikings trained their strength, sharpness of mind, coordination, cooperation, and other skills.

Strategic board games such as Hnefatafl (a type of chess) and Nivtavl (known today as Mill game or Nine Men's Morris) were also a popular pastime among the Vikings.

In Ribe VikingeCenter, you can try out the ancient games and challenge each other.
