Viking role play for children

Reopens on October 13, 2025

When you take on a role in the story, put on a cape and get around among the Vikings, you will experience Viking Ripa in a new way.

Viking role play in Ribe VikingeCenter

Travel back in time and discover Viking Ripa. Children are invited to join the role play which is a story taking place in our fantastic surroundings of reconstructed buildings and streets.

Bring e.g. your brother, cousin or good friend and share the experience with them. You borrow a costume from the Vikings who will send you off on a mission. In order to complete the mission, you will need to approach the Vikings, lend a hand with different chores and report back at the assembly later in the afternoon.

Age group: About 7-13 years + their parents/grandparents. Especially the youngest will benefit from having an older sibling or an adult come along. The role players will be given a mission and are supposed to explore Viking Ripa.

Duration: Set aside min. 1 hour, but preferably a little longer. Last entry is at 13:30 as the story ends with an assembly at 14:45. Many children become so involved in the Viking world that they might need more than just an hour. Apart from the role play, there are more activities on the programme.

You can leave the role play at any time and return the borrowed costume.
