Cabbage stir fry

Curly kale is very useful and for hundreds of years it was a very important winter vegetable. It was easy to grow, gave a good yield and did well in cool weather. During winter when most of the diet consisted of preserved foods, kale was one of the only fresh vegetables available.

Procedure

Melt the butter in a frying pan and cook the onion and garlic. Tear the kale into smaller pieces and add to the pan. Cook 5 min. while stirring.

Season with salt and diced apple before stirring one last time.

Serve right away

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 kale leaves, stems removed
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Butter

Try making this dish with other types of cabbage and add hazelnuts.
